For Wine Studies Sales and Marketing Students: 

The Ag Business curriculum is changing and if you are pursuing a Wine Sales and Marketing certificate or degree, please make the substitutions below. In addition, if these classes (BMK 50 and BMG 50) are not available, please contact Wine Program Coordinator Kevin Sea for other possible substitutions. Also, please submit a course substitution form once you are enrolled in the new class. Thank you!

Required Class for Wine Business and Marketing Degree: AGBUS 61 Agricultural Marketing

Description: Survey of marketing aspects of the agriculture industry. An overview of the structure and institutional aspects of the marketing system including global agricultural markets. Develop and present effective marketing plans for value-added commodities. Conduct industry studies of the marketing of selected locally grown commodities.

Please substitute: BMK 50 Marketing

Description: Innovative, customer-centric strategies to successfully reach consumer and business markets. Focus on branding, positioning, promotions, social media, and digital communications with an emphasis on long-term, socially responsible and sustainable techniques.

Required class for Wine Business and Marketing Degree: AGBUS 56 Introduction to Agriculture Business and Management

Description: This course provides an overview of the business and economic aspects of the agriculture industry. Introduction to the economic aspects of agriculture and the implications for consumers and other sectors of the food system. Principles of management and decision-making in agribusiness.

Please substitute: BMG 50 Introduction to Management and Supervision

Description: Principles, concepts, and practices of management: planning, organizing and controlling in organizations. Organizational dynamics of diversity, groups, communications, decision making, change, and ethics and social responsibility.
