Chris Christensen, Associate Faculty, Wine Studies
Position
Associate Faculty, Wine Studies

Prior to joining the Wine Studies facility in 2024, I had worked in wine production for over 21 years at wineries ranging in size from a few hundred cases to over 1 million. In that time my career has taken me to 9 wineries in California, a vintage in Australia and also consulting jobs for wineries in Texas and Colorado. In 2011 I started my own brand, Bodkin Wines, and gained a following for making America's first sparkling Sauvignon Blanc in 2012. I had the honor of being named as a 'Winemaker to Watch' by Esther Mobley of the SF Chronicle in 2017 and also was selected to the Wine Enthusiasts' 40 Under 40 Tastemakers list for 2020. In addition to my work with Santa Rosa Junior College, I serve as a board member for the Sonoma County Wine Library. I am also a board member of the Association of African American Vintners, serving as the Secretary for the organization. I work to promote diversity and inclusion in the wine industry through speaking engagements, podcasts appearances and serving as mentor for aspiring vintners and winery owners through Wine Unify.
