Associate Faculty, Wine Studies

Lauren Barrett is a winemaker, food scientist, and educator with global experience in the wine and adult beverage industries. She holds a B.Sc. in Enology from California State University, Fresno, and an M.Sc. in Viticulture and Enology through the international Vinifera Euromaster's program. Lauren teaches Wine 70: Introduction to Wine Sensory and supports the Shone Farm Winery and Wine Studies Program at SRJC. Her background spans winemaking, research, consulting, and product development across traditional, non-alcoholic, and functional beverage categories. Her expertise includes sensory science, microbiology, product development, quality systems and compliance.  Lauren is passionate about education, sustainability, and fostering innovation in the next generation of winemaking and beverage professionals.
