This course and the accompanying trainee stipend are fully funded by the Sonoma County settlement agreement with PG&E following the 2019 Kincade wildfire. Thank you to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s office for entrusting SRJC with delivering this important training program, and thank you to PG&E for the funding and technical support.

Are you looking for a great career with great pay? Participants who complete this FREE training earn $24/hour and can progress to $46/hour after just 18 months.

This 200-hour, Utility Line Clearance Arborist Training course will introduce you to best practices in Utility Vegetation Management (UVM).

Topics include:

  • vegetation management
  • tree identification
  • tree biology
  • pruning techniques
  • safe equipment operations
  • tree climbing techniques,
  • customer service
  • and more!

 

You will receive this valuable certification at no cost.
Hands on training includes:

  • 3-way Communications
  • Tree Identification
  • Electrical Hazard Basics
  • ANSI Z133 Safety Standards
  • Climbing and Bucket Operations
  • Chainsaw and Chipper Operations
  • Worksite Inspections

 

FREE registration!
The five week course runs Monday-Thursday, from July 10 through August 10, 2023, at Santa Rosa Junior College's Shone Farm in Forestville. The course meets 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. This course is FREE.
$3,000 stipends are available anyone not currently employed!
